Parametric tests assume that the observations in each group are independent of observations in every other group. The easiest way to check this assumption is to verify that the data was collected using a probability sampling method - a method in which every member in a population has an equal probability of being selected to be in the sample. example, if the data is not normally distributed Mann-Whitney U test is used instead of independent sample t-test. In a broader sense, they are categorized as parametric and non-parametric statistics respectively. Parametric statistics are based on a particular distribution such as a normal distribution. Statistics, an essential element of data management and predictive analysis, is classified into two types, parametric and non-parametric. Parametric tests are based on the assumptions related to the population or data sources while, non-parametric test is not into assumptions, it's more factual than the parametric tests. 4: Parametric tests of Differences Between Means 4.1. The Independent t-test The independent t-test is used in experiments in which there are two conditions and different subjects have been used in each condition. For example, a psychologist might be interested in whether phobic responses are specific to a particular object, or whether Parametric statistics are the most common type of inferential statistics. Inferential statistics are calculated with the purpose of generalizing the findings of a sample to the population it represents, and they can be classified as either parametric or non-parametric. Advantages of Parametric Tests: 1. Don't require data: One of the biggest and best advantages of using parametric tests is first of all that you don't need much data that could be converted in some order or format of ranks. The process of conversion is something that appears in rank format and to be able to use a parametric test regularly Non parametric tests are used if the assumptions for the parametric tests are not met, and are commonly called distribution free tests. The advantage of non-parametric tests is that we do not assume that the data come from any particular distribution (hence the name). However if our assumptions are met we do get a stronger result from the use The probability density function is also referred to as pdf or simply density function. The pdf is a mathematical function used to describe two important phenomena: (1) the distribution of a variable(s) in the hypothetical population; and (2) the distribution of test statistics. Mathematically, the pdf fulfills two conditions: (1) it Chi-Square Test. 1. It is a non-parametric test of hypothesis testing. 2. As a non-parametric test, chi-square can be used: test of goodness of fit. as a test of independence of two variables. 3. It helps in assessing the goodness of fit between a set of observed and those expected theoretically. Parametric estimating is a statistics-based technique to calculate the expected amount of financial resources or time that is required to perform and complete a project, an activity or a portion of a project. It is an established method in several project mana
