Leica CL with 21mm Super-Elmar-M ASPH 1/320th @ f/8, ISO 100 Leica CL with 21mm Super-Elmar-M ASPH 1/40th @ f/3.4, ISO 800 Leica CL with 21mm Super-Elmar-M ASPH 1/200th @ f/11, ISO 100 But, the biggest limitation of the lens became apparent very quickly. At a modest f/3.4 max aperture, the lens isn't particularly fast. The Leica CL ain't cheap. And to be frank, it will probably be 'upgraded' with a Leica CL version 2 in the next few years — and thus the price/value of the Leica CL will drop a lot. So some practical thoughts: I will not purchase the Leica CL. Why? I already have a film Leica MP at home with the Leica 35mm f/2 Summicron which I really like. The Leica CL is a 35mm compact rangefinder camera made by Leitz with interchangeable lenses in the Leica M mount. It was developed in collaboration with Minolta and appeared in April 1973. It was released in the Japanese market in November 1973 as the Leitz Minolta CL. Both the Leica CL and Leitz Minolta CL were manufactured in Japan. Film Styles The Leica CL offers 5 different film styles to choose from. Sample Images This is a selection of sample images from the Leica CL camera, which were all taken using the 24 megapixel Superfine JPEG setting. The thumbnails below link to the full-sized versions, which have not been altered in any way. 1/320s · f/2.8 · ISO 100 27mm (35mm) The older version of the SL2 is the original SL camera. Prior to that Leica had SLR film cameras. 4.3. Leica R mount cameras Leica camera models explained: The R line is Leica's SLR line. This was Leica's SLR cameras for decades (We are talking 1960s here, folks) and cumulated in the Leica R9 (film camera) in 2009. The Leica CL has a vertical-running focal plane shutter, with cloth curtains, giving ½ to 1/1000 speeds. There is a through-the-lens CdS exposure meter mounted on a pivoting arm just in front of the shutter, like the Leica M5. The exposure is manual and the shutter is mechanical. The shutter speeds are visible in the finder. This is actually the second CL from the German company—back in the 1970s, Leica and Minolta teamed up to make a 35mm film camera called the CL. This new CL isn't a throwback to its '70s namesake. With manual lenses the Leica CL doesn't sense the lens being turned to focus so only displays the standard (non-magnified) EVF view. Leica CL 35mm Film Cameras, Leica CL 35 mm Rangefinder Film Cameras, Leitz Camera Rangefinder Units & Accessories for Leica, We tested the CL with the new Leica Elmarit-TL 18mm f2.8 ASPH 'pancake' prime lens which is equivalent to a 27mm and makes for a very compact overall package. It brings the line-up of 'APS-C' TL mount lenses to seven, spanning 11mm (16.5mm) to 135mm (202.5mm) and while you can also fit the SL's full-35mm format lenses, it's hard to Leica CL Instructions Add to wishlist (0) €15.00 €10.50 Sale Price as shown
