<p>2nd project that I added this semester following the tutorial sections on Rhino User interface introduction and 2D geometry. Students created a laser cut bowl. This bowl is made from cherry that the student milled up in the shop to 1/4" and then cut on the laser. He edge sanded every other ring for the effect you see. Had students create bowls in the shape of a dinosaur, mickey mouse, batman logo, etc. Fun, quick project for students to get used to working with lines, offset, polygons,…</p>

I did not feel like my students were as comfortable operating the laser cutter last year as I would have wanted them. Students were required to produce a product with a living hinge. Could be something as simple as a book cover, or something that had tabs to produce a 3D product from 2D. </p>
